No trip to Hawaii would be complete without a luau. At Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa, Kamaha`o “The Wondrous Myths of Hawaii” by Ka'ike Productions, is a celebration of traditions here on the island that was the birthplace and home of King Kamehameha, the great ali'i (chief/royalty) who is credited with uniting all the Hawaiian Islands.

Each Monday and Friday, sunset views from Bayview Lawn provide the perfect backdrop for a dramatic dinner and show. Kamaha`o is laced with many of the aspects visitors may expect at a luau such as the excitement and gracefulness of traditional Hawaiian dance to delicious food prepared by Sheraton Keauhou’s talented culinary staff.

But, Kamaha`o is also much more. It is a state-of-the-art production with lavish theatrics and costuming woven in to each scene.

Luau-goers have the option of Ali`i Circle seating with tableside, family-style service or, the more familiar buffet seating. Either way, guests sample traditional Hawaiian luau fare such as roast suckling pig, poi (mashed taro root), and haupia (coconut pudding). Freshly caught fish and prime rib also contribute to the culinary adventure. The evening culminates with a grand finale performance on stage to match the spectacular setting.
