Departures from either west Maui Kapalua or Kahului Airports (except the Sunset volcano Tour which only departs Kahului). All seats are window seats. Tour shows spectacular cliffs, valleys, waterfalls and the active volcano area, including areas that are accessible only by air and active flows.  Each tour is a unique adventure with different sights to see, and the duration is about 2 hours. Tour routes vary due to weather conditions and some of the highlights above may be inaccessible on any given tour. Since Madame pele is usually displaying her glory but can be unpredictable, seeing red lava flow is not guaranteed.

Tours are flown in FAA Certified and inspected, reliable, twin-engine, comfortable , air-conditioned, 10 seat, Piper Chieftain aircraft complete with pilot narration. Every passenger has a large window, Stereo headset and their own seat (unlike most helicopters). Passengers flying from the Kapalua West Maui Airport go to Gate 5. Passengers flying out of Kahului Airport should park at the NORTH end of the main Kahului Airport parking lot and walk across the street to the left of the car rental counters to the Maui Air counter in the Commuter Air Terminal.

We suggest that passengers refrain from wearing strong fragrances for the comfort of others and wear dark shirts to reduce glare for photos. If a passenger is concerned about the weather for their flight, have them call Volcano Air Tours (or check their hotel for messages) one hour before their flight to confirm departure time. Due to changing weather conditions flights may be canceled for their comfort and safety at or near flight time. They should be at the counter or gate at least 15 minutes before scheduled flight time.

Passengers must be physically able to climb the two steps by themselves to board the airplane. Sorry, due to FAA regulation, passengers in wheelchairs or with oxygen bottles cannot be accommodated. Passengers weighing  260# to 290# lbs. are subject to a charge of $547.50 plus tax of $44.46. Passengers must weigh less than 290 lbs for safety and comfort reasons. Correct body weights are extremely important for passenger safety reasons. Under current FAA rules, infants under 2 years may be held in parent's lap at parent’s own risk. Children, 2 years or older must pay for a seat and wear a. seat belt. No scuba diving 24 hours after landing. 72-hour cancellation notice required for any refund.
